Martin "Pipe Major" Schreiber IV
(My Father the Pilot)
This is my dad at Fremont, CA in 1965, just before we moved to Africa. He also flew sailplanes at El Mirage, CA; Afenya, Ghana and Hammond, Louisiana. My father's interest in aviation is what got his children into the air. His simple joy at being up there with the birds was inspiring. Being a sailplane pilot automatically makes dad a taildragger pilot--which, of course, is the best kind of pilot one can be.
Schreiber's call-sign reflects the fact that he is Louisiana's premier bagpiper.
